What is the difference between European and American power cords

According to P = UI (P is the power, u is the voltage, I is the current), because the working voltage of American standard power line is low, so the current passing through is greater. 3. Specifications are expressed in different ways. The specification of European standard power cord is expressed as follows: number of cores x cross-sectional area of conductor, for example: 3x0.75mm?, American standard power cord usually uses AWG to express the specification, for example: 3 / C 18awg.

4. The core color is different. The core color of European standard power cord is usually two cores: Brown (live wire), blue (zero wire), three cores: Brown (live wire), blue (zero wire), yellow green (ground wire). The core color of American standard power cord is usually two cores: Black (live wire), white (zero wire), three cores: Black (live wire), white (zero wire), green (ground wire).

5. Certification is different. VDE certification standard is used for European standard power cord. Power cord with VDE certification can be sold in EU. American standard power cord uses UL certification standard, and UL certified power cord can be sold in America.
